Rosé English Sparkling Wine, 2008

12(%)

750(ml.)

Grape Varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir

With aromas of ripe summer fruits on the nose, the palate is fresh and vibrant, with redcurrants,  cherries and strawberries and an attractively nutty element, having spent nearly three years on its lees. This is a serious rosé, to be enjoyed on its own, with seafood canapés or with shellfish. The winemaker, Dermot Sugrue, says, “We targeted one particular parcel of Pinot Noir for the Rosé, which I fermented and aged in five year-old barrels alongside the best of the Chardonnay. The results, including the colour, are terrific.” This is Jenkyn Place’s first vintage for the Rosé.
