Grape Vatirties: Grenache Blanc,Marsanne,Sauvignon Blanc,Viognier , Chardonnay, Garnacha Blanca, Moscatel and Malvasía

The 2012 Blanco is a blend of nine different grape varieties, some traditional in Rioja, some not, where the idea is to erase the character of the grapes and transmit the character of the place. The wine fermented in stainless steel and oak then matured in barriques for 18 months. On opening it is quite oaky in a Burgundian way, but it soon reveals aromas of yellow fruit, pollen beeswax and chamomile that are elegant and show incipient complexity. Each year they fine-tune the white (mostly the work in the vineyard) so the improvements are noticeable. The palate is round and tasty, with great acidity and a sappy feeling that is mineral, almost salty, combining creaminess with austerity.
