The Neusiedlersee - Seewinkel National Park offers excellent conditions for wine growing and in its centre in Apetlon lays the Velich winery.  Founded by Otto Velich in 1933, the Velich winery has been a family business for decades. The emphasis is on a small but excellent selection of whites utilizing the possibilities provided by nature to provide the wines with the justice they deserve. Grapes are harvested at their highest and most harmonic maturity, and are then process to extend their natural possibilities without stressing the grapes through excessive cellar technology. The wines are exposed to natural yeasts that ensure optimal fermentation and its unique flavors. The only concession is the use of French oak that give the wines an individual note that emphasizes their regional characteristics.
